J ohn received his Juris Doctor from Pace University School of Law where he served as the Managing Editor of the Pace Law Review. John began his legal career as a corporate lawyer with Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP, where he represented public and private clients in wide variety of business matters, including mergers and acquisitions, asset sales, strategic alliances, joint ventures, restructurings, going-private transactions and leveraged buyouts, equity and debt financings, DIP financing, creditor committee representation and structuring private equity funds. John also has extensive experience structuring venture capital investments.

John also has extensive experience in all aspects of real estate including structuring and closing complex transactions. John represents numerous nationally recognized parties in the development, operation and financing of real estate projects, including many high-profile super luxury and mixed-use, commercial, retail and residential projects in New York City and throughout the country. John represents institutional and private equity funds and other investors in joint ventures, as well as the acquisition and sale of property (including portfolios of properties), and assists joint ventures in connection with a broad variety of developments. He also represents major funds and financial institutions in commercial lending transactions, loan restructurings and workouts.
Notably, John has been a recognized legal expert on crowdfunding and has covered this topic extensively in presentations and Continuing Legal Education seminars. On August 12, 2015, John was the featured speaker on the American Bar Associations Professors’ Corner regarding crowdfunding.
John is a member of the New York State Bar and an adjunct Professor of Law at Pace University School of Law. John is also a U.S. Marine.
